Tomas Saraceno called this giant installation “the orbit ” and it is located in the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein – Westfalen in Germany. At a height of over 20 meters Saraceno has made a construction which as if stands in the air. This structure is accessible in three levels and it resembles the landscape of a cloud for those who brave enough to climb higher to touch the glass domes. This contemporary “net” covers 2,500 m² and spreads itself through three levels below the glass dome.
Seen from the mid or low level within the context of the glass dome, it seems that as if people are entangled in this network. For the artist, this floating space creates a world of relationships and a harmonious communication.
The precise observation of nature and the conceptual development are typical for the creative work of Saraceno who merges boundaries between art and science.
