The Kaufmann House is located in Palm Springs, California. It originally was designed by Richard Neutra in 1946 and recently renovated by Marmol Radizner architecture practice. Many critics place the house amongst the most important houses of the 20th century in the United States and even was included in a list of all time top 10 houses in Los Angeles in December 2008. It features five bedrooms and five bathrooms and designed to emphasize connection between a rugged desert and a suburban residential neighborhood. Large sliding glass walls open the living spaces and master bedroom to outdoors. Most of outdoor areas have movable vertical fins that offer flexible protection against sandstorms and intense heat. Villa Bussum is designed by GROUP A and located in Bussum, a small town near Amsterdam. It’s surrounded by a lush and the abstract building volume feels comfortably embedded in the landscape. It looks modern and sculptural thanks to the choice of materials and the unusual shape. The house features two gardens in front and at the back that are linked to each other by a sloping path. That path also serves as a covered garage and provides an access to the basement floor. A comfortable porch and a 15 meter wide panorama window face the garden, and double up as a transition between the villa and the garden at the back of the house. { Group A }

The Nest is a house designed by DeForest Architects and built by Joseph McKinstry Construction. The whole process was described by its owners at their blog. The house is set on a steep hillside overlooking Lake Washington. It is created to complement with owners lifestyle and consists of simple lines, flexible living spaces, well-organized storage and a rooftop garden. The final result is anything but “empty”. The best thing that the house is suits well its owners no matter what weather or part of the day is at the moment. There is always a space that tune with a current light and shows a great view.
