This splendid house is located in the district of São Sebastião das Águas Claras, less than 30km from the capital Belo Horizonte of Minas Gerais in Brazil. This house was designated to be the perfect spot for a retreat weekend and a meeting place where many friends of the owners would have some leisure time together.
The house is located on an extremely steep terrain but it is surrounded with stunning views to the Atlantic Forest and the mountains of Minas. The grand project for the house was developed in stages, and finally we have a complex guest house, a nice recreation area and a main house (still not completed), all enhancing existing nature features. The volumetric architecture possesses some simplicity and we especially like how the house visually defines the orientation of the main building.
If you are looking to create a cozy and rustic atmosphere at home while you are thinking of an appropriate and functional contemporary home, just take a look at the photos and we are sure that you will find your inspiration.
The architectural and design project was developed by the landscaper Thiers Mattos and Flávia Rennó Mônica Rohlfs. In the landscape project, the exuberance of Brazilian flora spices was used to outline and make the most of the surroundings. Apart from their beauty, all plant species are suited to the local climate and thus they are resistant to the strong sun by day and cool nights in the mountainous region.
