The talented architect Zaha Hadid has designed between 2009 and 2012 the ambitious research complex in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia. It is officially called Petroleum Studies and Research Center King Abdullah. The building has a total area of 66.000m2, it has a cellular appearance, but this time it does not have curved paths while it with a structure that supports a continuous transformation.
The outer protective layer hides what’s inside. Aside from having several areas for different types of meetings, this modern center has a large conference room and a multi-purpose hall.
For the design of the building various measures have been considered to reduce water and energy consumption which will probably manage the LEED Platinum certification.
Take a look at the various photos where we see a stunning and complex steel structure. The research center is also impressive, because it is built with reinforced concrete.
