The project is a combination of old and new. We feel the atmosphere of strength and bold design and see how the ancient walls correspond garden elements.
When you walk through the house you constantly feel you move between conservation and restoration.
The project consists of the renovation of an ancient resting place for hunters in the forests of Heverlee, Belgium. It has been transformed it into a comfortable, modern housing for a family with four children. One of the three wings of the composition was demolished except the front wall.
Both sides, made of brick, contain the private room fo the family while the dark volume accommodates the living room and kitchen, a permanent connection to the outside yard.
The dark interior colors contrast with the great light coming through the large windows.
