The architectural studio OMA, in collaboration with Oscar Properties, has won the competition Tors Torn for a mixed use of buildings in the area Hagastaden Stockholm. The proposal features two towers that bear no symmetry between them, but they do share the same modular construction system, composing facades which are typical for the concept of skyscrapers, but they do have their own appearance.
The modules represent boxes of reinforced concrete, textured finishes which reflect on each other, offering interesting shadow projections throughout the day. These elements serve as a container for each of all 195 apartments, leaving some space on one of the towers which will house a bar and an exhibition hall. There will be spaces for a gym, a library, a kids center and several shops.
